A mechanic today said that the crew screwed up. Sounds like he lost his SA and went four-wheeling off the runway or C.

Jeez Why is it that Pilots are the worst Jury members? For Pete's sake, Give it a rest and give the crew the beneifit of the doubt..........

And we say the media is out of control.

Your not insinuating it may have been a mechanical problem, are you? We all know airplanes don't break.

No, he's not saying that at all. I believe he means that we, as professional aviators, should not pass premature judgment on other professional pilots. In other words, no Monday morning quarterbacking. Plain and simple.

Redeyeav8r, please correct me if I've misrepresented your comment.

I was only agreeing with Redeye in a sarcastic (but apparently not clear) way that there could have been some cause other than the crew "screwing up" for the mishap. Sorry for the confusion.

Or, as we used to say in the Air Force, "You're only as good as your last screw-up!"

The Memphis news reported tonight that the pilot claimed he turned off early, was very sorry, and would not do it again.
