T,
I think he said it was being negotiated? We aren't ALPA of course, so I'm not holding out much hope |

Why is that relevant? "Our" "union" is under the impression that SWA is not one of our "peers", and that we should not expect to be compensated at their level.
You get paid a pretty good salary to fly well-maintained airplanes to a nice hotel to drink beer. I don't get it. Have a nice weekend and try to enjoy life. |

Just talked with a bud at SWA and asked him about the compensation. He is just short of holding CAPT and he said something like - If you work really hard you can make the big bucks. The guys maxing out the $$$ are not the same guys getting 18 days off a month.

Really? You'd rather have a 401k match than a 401k contribution?
Thanks, but no. I'll pass on that one. |

Are you like this in real life, or is this just your forum persona? Seriously. The majority of your posts are a bummer. You seem very angry. Maybe you're a great guy, and you just like to flamebait to start a conversation or argue for the sake of arguing.

....you also assume a staggering liability for harm to passengers, property, and that well-maintained airplane every time you push back from the gate. A liability that you, PD, and me (a SWA pilot) are all at present woe-fully under-compensated for. Please do not begrudge anyone for not being satisfied with status quo while trying to make this a better profession. Maybe it's a great military retirement gig for you, but to many of us it is still a career. |

I'm here for--and I'm utterly convinced we can achieve-- "more money and more time with my family." "Pretty good" is not good enough, and although I immensely enjoy craft IPAs and small-batch bourbon, I am most certainly not here for "nice hotels and beer," neither of which pay for my kid's braces or fund my retirement account. |

Honestly T, when the subject of SWA comes up, do you even RTFP anymore before letting the contempt come spilling out?
