people say unions caused the mayor airlines to go down hill...simply not true delta is non-union and in bankruptcy....swa is highly unionized and highly profitable...if all us pilots were not so selfish all jet capts. 30-50-70-100 seats would easily be making at least 120 an hour....as long as pilots are willing to fly jets for less we will be doomed....

I was raised in a union family, and I hate, let me reiterate, hate scabs, but just remember that that scab may have a family at home, and to punish the rest of his family for his idiotic mistake/decision is about as pathetic as you could get. By the way its my football and I am taking it home.

what about punishing mine by taking a paycut. are you saying that if I take a pay cut because of this other pilot that this doesn't hurt my family?

sigep_nm 11-27-2006 09:02 PM

Man I took a paycut when I walked into this industry. And I guarantee unless you work for TSA a go jetter never effected your QOL. It started to suck when a couple of buildings got knocked down, and I dont think those 19 people were gojetters. I dont think those idiots at GJ hurt your family as much as you want anyone to believe. By the way my family bleeds union, and my father has been hurt more by union busters than anyone you would ever know. He is a teamster, yes a real teamster not a Great Lakes pilot, or the fake teamsters that represent the bottom feeder airlines. These guys are hardcore, not your usual airline union. They actually strike, while us airline pilots posture, hell they would still be on strike if it were up to him. You know nothing about what a real strike is, I can guarantee it, its hell, and your family will never suffer what ours did because of one, end of discussion. By the way I would love to see a gojetter have a one on one meeting with one of these guys, OUCH!!!

I learned about gojets from several ex-TSA pilots in my new-hire class at my current airline. Their lives were affected significantly...

blah, blah, blah. once again not holding people accountable for their actions. if it was only 19 people I'm sure they could wait and get a job some where else shortly. by the way get off your high horse about being so union. I've been through it with my family as well.

you do realize that those 19 people were the terrorist that flew into the WTC and Pentagon, right?

[QUOTE=Eric Stratton;85073]If I worked at a company that was undercutting the rest of the airlines I'd have no problem with that. How would you feel if you didn't have your scope protection and fedex was allowed to transfer flying to another airline because they would do it for less? (ie. the regional and especially freedom and gojets) You have to admit that cargo carriers are in a completely different game when it comes to start up carriers.
QUOTE]

AHEEMM.........
Fedex can and often does transfer flying to other airlines.........only they don't use regional jets they use 727's DC-10s, Md-11s , A300's and 747's........Atlas, Gemini, Trade winds,Kitty Hawk, Kalitta, KLM Air France and Luft as well as other Contract Charter outfits

Why are cargo carriers a different game with respect to start up carriers?
There are plently of (probably more than the PAX side) slip shod , fly by night (no pun intnended) start up cargo outfits. They come and go.
What's your point??
