You know we have guys that would never call in sick, no matter how sick, if they thought it would put an extra nickel in their pocket.

At my company, one of my favorite Captains to fly with, (LD), flew for 38 years, never once sick and retired with a full sick bank. The sick bank disappeared when you retired.
I passed up on two up-grades just so I could "buddy bid" with him and to learn as much as I could.
To this day, I "take him" with me on every flight I sign for.
Sincerely,

Lets get this thread back on track. Congrats Captain!!! Hope you enjoy a long and healthy retirement.

I did not see that on the link I posted. My link is the one on this forum! Simply scroll to the bottom of the forum on any page, and see where it says "Terms and Conditions" click there. It is in between "Privacy Policy" and "Careers".

Amazing.

My official rules link posted on this forum makes no reference of owners being able to modify, delete, or edit posts for any reason. However, your link does.

Why the difference? There should be one universal rules page for this forum.

Also, I didn't realize all moderators were owners of this forum, because that clause only applies to owners of this forum that can modify, edit, remove without any reason.
Stop with the school girl *****ing. Go somewhere else if you aren't happy here. Start your own damn website and make up your own rules if it makes you happy, but please shut the hell up.

Its amazing how FEW people know the definition of the terms libel and slander. We learned that as freshman Journalism majors.

Again +1. Shy, it looks like you're about to get schooled in what happens to anyone who dares challenge the Delta Gods.

Again, +1. But then, why even have standards if you can't double them?

Here we go. Now you're about to get insulted as much as someone who challenges a VX thread. Enjoy!

And this is WHY you should ZERO out your sick leave the day you retire. How many hours of sick leave did Capt. Flanagan leave on the table. Once he hit the cap, how many didn't he accrue. No wonder DAL management LOVED the guy. He wrote them a $200K check in unused sick leave the day he retired. You won't see me doing that. Sick leave is an EARNED benefit. Use it or lose it? I'm using it.

Here you go, Shy. More gratuitous attack. Guess you're learning the hard way who's in and who's out. If you're one of the IN crowd you can say pretty much anything you want.

Problem is, unless you can cash in your sick leave at the end, the nickels are going in Delta's pocket.

Again, another gratuitous insult. Now you know, Shy, who's in and who's out. Having fun yet?

What Red said, plus this: as Shyguy works for VX, there is NO way the Age 65 rule slowed his career progression. Unless, of course, Redwood hired all their original captains at age 59. I doubt that.

Congrats on a fantastic career Capt. Flanigan. My words just seem to fall short and to be inadequate for a person of his stature in terms of his commitment, perseverance, and integrity. A flawless career...

Nice. I didn't know you took a freshman journalism class.

Do tell us what you know then. I'm all ears.
