Libel, how so? The posts I saw simply questioned how a 37 year career can go without a single sick call. He could have flown sick, or he may have swapped out trips on the days he didn't feel well. Either case, no one knows, therefore we cannot judge. But a libel charge is a pretty far outcry in that thread. What specific post are you referring to?

Oh wow! Amazing. Where did YOU find that link?

I did not see that on the link I posted. My link is the one on this forum! Simply scroll to the bottom of the forum on any page, and see where it says "Terms and Conditions" click there. It is in between "Privacy Policy" and "Careers".

Amazing.

My official rules link posted on this forum makes no reference of owners being able to modify, delete, or edit posts for any reason. However, your link does.

Why the difference? There should be one universal rules page for this forum.

Also, I didn't realize all moderators were owners of this forum, because that clause only applies to owners of this forum that can modify, edit, remove without any reason.

On the first page, it is implied several times. By the end of the thread (page #9) it is stated as a fact a couple of times.

That's enough.

Only two pages to go south! Congrats and can't wait in 36 years I get to do the same hopefully! Sounds like he was a great CA to fly with, but some people can't let him have his moment. I'm sure though he has no idea of these threads and is out enjoying his life especially with all that sick bank!

Vagabond,

This is a moderator threatening to use his powers to close a thread
Wait a minute, I was under the impression that Vagabond was a female and was not even an airline pilot, much less a Delta pilot. I wonder what else ShyGuy has been wrong about.

While the posts in the other thread may not have violated TOS, I can understand her closing the thread. Not every thread needs to be drug through the mud. We act like jackalopes in every other one on this board, can we not have one that celebrates a remarkable individual's life and career while not using it as a soapbox to tilt at one's personal windmill?

Unless I have overlooked something, we don't get any "sick bank" payouts at Delta come retirement time.

No, we don't. Unused vacation gets paid out, but sick time just disappears. One of my gripes about our sicktime policy. That, and no rolling yearly accumulation.

One thing that it does do and is nice is that usually when someone is sick and isn't senior enough to have other options they call in sick. Hence not sitting next to someone for several days hacking up a lung for them to take home to their family. Not a perfect solution but it best promotes people not flying sick so they can (bank) the money.

Vagabond,

here is what you wrote:

Vagabond is a DAL pilot, Shy? Huh.... When did we start flying C-172's and what is the payrate on it? If it's high enough, maybe I'll bid it.

Open your eyes or your brain before you start jumping to false conclusions.
