Default Congratulations, Captain Flanigan!

Congratulations on the the end of a fantastic career! Enjoy your retirement, you've earned it!
At my company, one of my favorite Captains to fly with, (LD), flew for 38 years, never once sick and retired with a full sick bank. The sick bank disappeared when you retired.
I passed up on two up-grades just so I could "buddy bid" with him and to learn as much as I could.
To this day, I "take him" with me on every flight I sign for.
Sincerely,
fbh

Yes, congratulations to this man. He certainly worked hard, earned his wings with true sweat/blood, and did well at Delta.

The only thing remarkable though, is the Delta moderators here, who go over the top to censor anything negative about any Delta thread.

Vagabond,

here is what you wrote:

Ok, that's it. This thread has gone on long enough with the ridiculous posts about a good man who had a great career. We should all hope to end our careers like he did.

If Capt. Flanigan is not a member of APC, I would like to invite him and hope that he can share his wisdom and experience and perspective with us.

As for the rest of you who have nothing good to say about anybody or anything, try to restrain yourselves in the future. Or I'll happily do it for you.
Ridiculous posts are not against TOS. They are ridiculous, but certainly not violating anything. People writing about him staying until age 65 can be considered ridiculous to you and I, but it is still a legitimiate concern for many.

and this:

As for the rest of you who have nothing good to say about anybody or anything, try to restrain yourselves in the future. Or I'll happily do it for you.
This is a moderator threatening to use his powers to close a thread if no one has anything good to say. Sorry, but this again is not a violation of TOS. There were good things in that thread. Then there were some legitimate gripes about his sick usage, flying to age 65, and one honest assessment that this gentleman look very aged for his actual age of 64.999

None of these however, are slander/libel/viscious/or any other violations of TOS. You two pounced prematurely to save a Delta pilot thread.

I'll copy/paste the TOS for your future reference so you don't jump the gun....

Shy guy

Yes, continued arguing about Age 65 is absolutely ridiculous and, in reference to Capt Flanigan, insulting.

Age 65 is done, DONE. It was done for a lot of reasons, ICAO, Social Security, BK, but no pilot, or group of pilots, are individually or collectively responsible for the change. Get over it.

I wasn't arguing for the Age 65 thing, it is ridiculous (I agree) but not insulting. It is a somewhat legitimate gripe for those who have had their career stagnated. I don't think they mean it ill, it's a good professional jab that hopefully he did well the last 5 years becaue they've been feeling the hit. That's how I took it, no personal insults. Just an industry wide feeling.

Btw - where did you get those TOS? Lots of good stuff there but but exactly APC's to the tee. Look here for the REAL deal!

Fly,

Look up what libel is and then rethink what was posted (published) regarding Captain Flanigan flying while he was sick.

Let me know if you still think Vagabound pounced too quickly.
