Default Who uses Jepps EFB

I'm curious - we switched to the Jepps EFB at Fedex recently (what a pos). Our company recently said over 30 airlines use this software and I know of none. If your airline uses Jepps EFB please post here and your impression of it.

AA uses it. Although not perfect, it sure beats hauling 30 pounds of Jepp manuals on a trip!

Define "Jepps EFB". You mean Jepps on the iPad (Jepp FDPro/JeppFD)? Or on a different EFB unit (Jepp Flightdeck).

At AA, we use a thing called "TC Pro". I have no idea if that is different than FD.

It's simply electronic Jepp charts, with a search feature, and a way to select, save, and manipulate favorites. Our version has our own company pages within the standard Jepp pages.

Good part: Being able to zoom in, especially while taxiing, or trying to read fine print, is awesome. Also awesome for night flying, since it's all self-illuminated. Updates of course are zero effort, and you have complete confidence in the accuracy.

Bad part: I honestly can't think of any. There have been some reports of bugginess, but mine works fine.

Everything we need now to fly is electronic, including aircraft and company manuals. Exceptions: enroute charts and 10-1 pages, and those are supposed to be electronic within 6 months or so. We still must carry a paper QRH, and that requirement will probably never go away.

I'm loving it. If you do day turns and don't mind the risk of diversion, everything you need fits in a small leather bag, a man-purse, or briefcase.

Foreflight is way better than Jepp. BUT, it lacks international capability

At Alaska we use JeppFD-Pro on the Ipad.. I really like it so far. It can be a bit of pain when it's really bright out and I'm still getting used to it at night. Over all it's a great resource and it sure beats Jepp revisions!!!

I agree, almost anything is better than lugging around Jepp charts.

We use Jeppesen charts on our EFBs. I think they work great.

Ok. Good thoughts. We at Fedex switched from LIDO EFB which was really a nice product - electronic, not just photos of the Jepps plates which is all our Jepps EFB is (not iPad). Jepps was a huge step down for us in my opinion but if you went directly from paper Jepps to any electronic version I could see where that would be an improvement.

Thx
