Default Delta Pilots?

After the DAL/NW merger date, how long did separate system/base/upgrade/equipment bids continue on during the transition to a single carrier? How long after your ISL before you were able to openly bid all equipment/bases and cross crew fly? Thanks.

I believe the first joint equipment bid was at the end of 2009. So a little over one year after the awarded ISL.

I believe Johnson is correct but the 747 and 777 were fenced for 5 years.

It is over with now, but not protecting bases and allowing huge numbers of NWA to flood the west coast bases caused a lot of hardships for families. So perhaps when constructing a list of wants be sure to protect bases by allowing only open vacancies to be filled by ISL list in seniority order. In other words one can go down in domicile but not out! Creates a lot of bad blood otherwise. But now 5 years on it has settled down for the most part.

Hopefully "status quo" will come back as the goal for mergers. Delta had quite a list inversion in some areas. When a senior base line holder on the 767 is integrated next to DC9 reserve, it is pretty obvious what's coming next.
