As we all impatiently wait for that dream phone call, I think we all know that we have no clue as to what any of the companies are looking for......It's all just a mix box of figures that they think will make the perfect pilot for them....Sure, I know I would never land short, many a times I slam my students on aim point, airspeed.....but yet those are hired based on some MIT calculation yet still aim short and land short........so, I think that all that we can say being on the outside is good luck with the career and God speed........Good luck to everyone on the outside looking in.........I hope we all get the opportunity to have the dream job.........good night, and good luck......(I think that was from a movie....

I wish......difficult to do in Enid America.......but seriously isn't anyone tired of computing the amount of Delta hires based on flow etc, and the retirements.....there comes a point where enough is enough........all we can do is apply and work our connections and hope for the best.......though, that is a pretty fricken cool pick...I think I saw a stud looking like that ........though check this out...sweet song....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfjTZLxekig

It's all a crap shoot. After the four year degree, mini medical, written exams, interviews, it boils down to how you part you hair, and the color of your shoes, and the mood of the selection board when the verdict is handed down.
Tis pit, tis true... Now where did I put that glass of cognac?

And don't let a rejection or two put you off your pursuit. I was turned down by US Air 5 months before Delta hired me.
I was crushed at the time, but 28 years later and with 20/20 hind sight, it turned out to be the best rejection letter I ever got! It is a crap shoot no doubt, and nobody knows what the next 30 years will bring to this industry, or which Legacy carriers today will be gone tomorrow, so keep your chin up and press on. It's all you can do.
Or...what was the number for that truck driving school?
;^)
