SWA Hiring?
#411
I've read a few posts of people speculating 15-20 year upgrades at SWA. Is there actually any data to support this? I have not been able to find a list of mandatory retirements at SWA like many of the other airlines have posted on their profiles. I know that growth and attrition are speculative, but mandatory retirements are black and white.
Also, will a January interview mean a February decision board? Is there already a date set for Feb DB?
Thanks!

Hey guys, looking for a little help here. I've browsed the past several months of posts in this thread and haven't really found what I'm looking for. Specifically:
- Where is the best posted gouge for the interview in terms of format used and common bank of questions asked?
- Best hotel to stay at? I saw one post mention the Wyndham near the airport is good.
- My interview is in 1 week and the Hiring Forms tab on pilotcredentials is blank - no documents, nor have I received any additional instructions or emails from SW. Is this normal or is there something I need to do?|
- What is the protocol in terms of bringing my logbook to the interview? I use Logbook Pro on my computer and have everything printed and included in a very nice leather bound logbook. Am I expected to bring my old/backup logbooks that I used to enter data into Logbook Pro? I ask because this would be many small logbooks, miscellaneous papers and a lot of my flights were logged via software on my phone so there would be a lot of holes and stuff missing. So nowadays, is a printed logbook from my computer acceptable or do they expect additional documents?
Thanks a bunch!

Wyndam is good its where I stayed at. They even gave me the SWA rate that was $86 about out the door.
gouge look at aviation interviews, or will fly for food.
logbook, I brought my logbook which is electronic and printed out into a similar binder you speak of. This in my opinion is a nice presentation I also had my original logbooks but did not present those, I would have had I been asked. Mine are really messy.
As far as your issue with pilot credentials I would call the support number asap, or the people department quickly I had an issue with pilot credentials as well and it was sorted out with a quick email.
SWA has a lot of paper work and following their directions can be frustrating. Some forms auto populate some don't and they have contradictory instructions for some things. Best of luck
you should get a an email with a barcode on it soon this is your pass into the building.
So take this for what is its I have interviewed twice with SWA and have been passed over. I guess I'm not SWA material after all I'm not a military guy in his 40's with no 121 time who will vote yes on any contract this up for a vote.

I'd bet money that it's this attitude that has kept you on the outside looking in.

SWA hires a disproportionate amount of military vs civilian guys. The good ole boys club is alive and well. Good luck out there.

nothing is wrong being in your 40's I'm saying that is the sweet spot for SWA right now. I am saying I'm too young to get hired there is all, they are looking for a certain demographic, cost control is the name of the game there now.
if they hire guys that will most likely never upgrade they are saving money.
Don't read to much into this boys and girls just some observations.
