I hear ya. The reality is that theyll be easily replaced by regional guys like me who dont have your perspective yet. Ive hated the unions that Ive been a part of in 2 airlines and Its so much better here than where I came from. For most guys who are new, this is the case. I do realize that my tune could change very quickly however. Good luck to all-it'll get interesting soon.

Thats because its supposed to be better. It sounds like you are new to JB, welcome, I hope you enjoy your time here and make it a better place. However, please remember you are now at a MAJOR and should be treated and compensated as such. You seem like a smart guy though, you will see the light soon enough! Took me just under a year myself!

That's what we hear, yes. And they said 100 in jan/feb. So either 3 really big classes or 4 still big ones. I think almost everyone in dec 5th was a September interview. Most got the call a little over two weeks before class, a few were called last minute, I assume as replacements. Good luck! First two days have been pretty impressive by the way.

If that's the case, I am hoping that the Dec class cleaned out all of the Sep interviews. Since it was a big class that might be the case

Yup- a different perspective which always changes when the honeymoon is over. I would be careful however Sig, comparing JB to Delta/United/AA- we are not those airlines. A union will take years to effect change but it would provide certain protections. No easy answers for sure.

Thanks for the info. That sounds really good.

I contacted Sterling about the status of my background check. They are still waiting for a PRIA report from a corporate operation I flew for years ago. Would this prevent me from getting a call for the next class, or is this one of those situations that leads to a delayed passing of "phase 2" after being called for training?

Keep in mind that while your ALPA regional experience is real it's not necessarily applicable to Jetblues or a majors airlines situation. The nature of the relationship between a major airline and it's pilots group is substantially different than that of a regional pilots with its airline and the major airline it is contracted to fly for.

It might delay your call for a classdate. Try to get in touch with your previous employer to give them a poke. Whether you get a class now or later you probably won't get the official "Congrats you passed Phase II" until you are just about ready to get on the line and start flying.
