He also said it is basically a full PC every 3 months for the currency because you will never fly. So it is not just go to IAH and do take offs and landings, but a PC.
Shoot, that's not bad - you'll be a sim instructor in no time!!

Do you know if CAL can see how many hours of sick time are in an XJT pilot's bank? I've heard they can, which is BS, but maybe your sick time is too low.

They used to have easy access to that data but no more. They don't look!

I'm not so sure about that. I bet they look at every tiny bit of info on your career at XJET.

Since XJT is not wholly owned by CO any longer, it would be illegal for CO to access records without XJT providing them. This is no different than CO looking into the file of a Colgan or Chautauqua pilot. If XJT management provides a work history reference that includes sick usage then they would know, but CO does not push a button that brings up your personnel file.

But do you really believe they can't or won't do it. C'mon, you know very well who we work for and how they operate. I'd be willing to bet we don't hire any XJET guys with past sick leave abuse or discipline problems period.

went to interview at CAL, was impressed, right time to get in, and had a good experience. was offerd a class but just can't pull the trigger, a very tough decision. But if you can get a interview and get on, it is a very positive place to be

In addition for working for a pretty good airline, you might be lucky enough to fly with the infamous calcapt...
