I know that T is a bit confused, and I worry about a little schizophrenia there also. See, he really does care, because he responded and he asked me how I am enjoying retirement. That's so nice of him. Maybe we can get him, by the end of next month to hit 12,000 posts in just over six years. He must go through withdrawal when he's out of his basement, not posting. Could be a record for a non moderator. All in good fun there T.
My question is to G4, is where is the FSDO and POI in all of this? Is there a safety culture that allows for reporting of events with no ramifications? In this day and age of SMS's, it would seem inconceivable that there is a "major" airline operating in this manner, if all is true that is related here.
I always had heard fairly good stuff about G4.

Good example is yet another pseudo engine failure last week on the airbus. It hit a bird in the engine and air returned. They replaced two blades and sent it back out full of passengers without test running it. It took off and had to declare an emergency and land one engine idle because it was so out of whack. When told that they should have balanced it and then tested it they replied that it wasn't required. End of story.
There's dozens of stories like this where something could be fixed with common sense but is blocked by someone up high in dispatch or stations or maintenance who says "it isn't required so we won't do it".
Our work rules are the FARs. Why would things be any different when it comes to safety? Unless it's mandated they must do it they don't.

Delta equals the Borg. Love it. Retired military andTwenty five years at the "Borg" and now eight years out....yes, there is another whole world of aviation out there. "I actually talked to a regional pilot". Priceless. And DAL pilots wonder why there isn't a lot of love lost for them. Good luck G4 guys.
I watch my CAs consistently treat OAL pilots with respect, including regional guys. I've seen plenty of DAL guys(myself included) sit on FA jump seats so that OAL pilots could sit on the flight deck jumpseat. Just a few months ago, two mainline pilots took FA jump seats so that regional pilots could sit in the flight deck jumpseats.
Also, based on the number of apps DAL is drowning in, I'd say your opinion is rarely shared.
Good luck to the G4 pilots. It might be time to call ALPA.

We've hired some safety people. Problem is that when you tell them a problem, they tell it to someone who doesn't care and doesn't want to change. It stops there.

Delta's planes? Old tin cans held together with bailing wire and speed tape, had to return to the gate a couple of times, but they get the job done.
