Delta and United first officers
Hello everyone!
I just applied to delta and united and I have a few questions.
1. How much money could I expect to earn in the first few years?
2. What is the junior base?
3. How much money out of pocket do you pay for health insurance?
4. How many days do you work per month?
5. How long do you stay on reserve?
6. What is the 401k like?
7. Do you like working for your company?
Thank you in advance!

This is going to be great...
Hurry and help him with his answers. He applied to both and I'm sure UAL and DAL will soon be in a bidding war for this kind of talent.
To the OP, you serious? Because in the words of Bryce Harper, "That's a clown question, bro."

1. AirlinePilotCentral.com
2. UAL-EWR, DAL-??
3. Whatever it is, you'll be able to afford it.
4. 16-20 until you get off reserve, and then less unless you bid open time.
5. Awhile. Years, depending on equipment and base.
6. AirlinePilotCentral.com
7. My conversations with United pilots have been less positive than those with Delta pilots. Either way, should you work for either of those companies, you will be a pilot at a major airline who can expect to reap large rewards after several years of successful service.

I apologize if I came across as a jerk. I just wanted some answers to some basic questions without having to sift through hundreds of pages on some of the other threads.

Everything he ^^ said is almost right.
4. You are guaranteed 13 days a month off on reserve at UAL. Depending on the month you may fly everyday on or hardly at all. It's wildly variable.
5. 17 Years at UAL 6 years as an instructor. Other than that all but two of my years on the line have been reserve and I'm still on it today as an F/O on the 76T in DEN.
7. UAL has basically been one broken promise and one huge disappointment after another. Any of you mid to late 90's hires remember the "Lottery ticket/ pension that can NEVER be taken away" speech?

No worries, but I am having a hard time believing that you are for real with some of the questions you asked.
