Been on some carriers who have made an announcement in regards to lav.use in var.cabins and that is as it should be. The fa should have made an announcement but that would have taken initiative which in this day in age is sorely lacking.

This is a purely frivolous lawsuit, Alaska just wanted this to go away.

AFAIR, limiting pax to the lav in their class of cabin is no longer required. It was initially a TSA thing to keep people from trooping up the aisle towards the cockpit door, but was relaxed a while ago. Like tonyp said, nothing but a frivolous lawsuit.

It amazes me how many coach passengers think they're entitled to the same perks as first class passengers. These first class passengers are paying for (or have otherwise been granted) these perks. Life isn't fair, you want it.. you're going to have to pay for it. And if you didn't it, deal with it.

F/C has its own lav and coach has its own lav so what part of this don't pax understand . I'm not assuming anything just going by what should be common sense.

Many overseas carriers, mine included, make it known via the PA to use the biffy in the class you are seated. FAs are proactive to remind passengers she they stray beyond their cabin.
As I recall when flying from my U.S. gateway airport, domestic carriers I've flown have made similar announcements, but do not demonstrate their proactive roles to ensure the same as their foreign carrier counterparts.
Yeah, perhaps the problem could have been stemmed with a PA regardless of the FAs FOM.
At the end of the day another frivolous law suit encouraged and embraced by our pervasive legal system

Thats the point of buying a first class ticket! You dont have to share the aft lavs with 150 of your closest strangers! Buy a first class ticket and you only have to share it with a dozen or so.... Some people can't get over the fact that life is not fair... Sounds like some dirty hippies to me...![Smile](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
