Default Oh Delta. So pathetic

Seatac has been down much of the week due to low vis. So has much of the PNW. The only TO alternate available for us was Klamath Falls. As we taxied for takeoff we heard two Delta flights ask ground to pull off in the run up area because they figured out that their ops specs did not allow them to use Klamath as an alternate. I hope the passengers on those two 737-800s enjoyed the parade of Alaska aircraft taking off while they sat waiting for the weather to improve (or until management got their S together)
Way to build a hub Delta!

Mikey,

Appears you have a severe case of Johnson envy.

I am not a hired DAL pilot, rather acquired pilot (former NWA) but with that said, I am very impressed with the professionalism of our flight operations. Of course we all have our jerkoffs but you seem to be bringing that label upon yourself.

I say "kudos" to the crew that recognized the misplaced alternate.

Fly safe,

OC

Go Seahawks!!

Then they amended the release to have a new takeoff alternate, and took off following the parade, and resumed normal operations?

I'm shocked they discovered Klamath wasn't in their opspecs. Do you check them when you're flying to the East Coast?

We'll still beat you in ontime performance so who cares.

Klamath is in our Op Specs so who knows what was going on. Wasn't there. Maybe Delta figured out the WX in Klamath didn't allow it to be used as an alternate while all the AK flights paraded off with an illegal TO alternate.

Ah, no. They sat there waiting for the weather to improve. Or not. I don't know I was gone.
