What I am getting at here is that if a writer doesn't like what the editor does to their piece, stand up for what your name is attached to instead of say 'ok' just to get your name out there.

Then you should have stood your ground (like PG should have done) and told the editor that you disagree with the direction they took the piece.

I once went after a manufacturer pretty hard in an article and they toned down the title but didn't change a word of my content. In retrospect it was a good change; mine was pretty abrasive.

I believe the same argument could be made against those that work for sub par wages (including regionals) to build flight time to advance their careers could it not? Ironic. Some of the best speakers/preachers/writers/realtors/salespersons/actors, etc. are shameless self promoters. They have to be: their name IS the brand. And any PR is good PR.

Apparently neither do the "professional" pilots who refuse to wear the hat and stroll through the terminal iPod on, sunglasses on the back of their neck with a backpack slung over one shoulder.
And then they wonder why people like Peter have no respect for airline pilots anymore. Some of our "peers" have laid the groundwork for articles like this.

chicken egg ............
You hire a pilot to fly a $30 million dollar jet and pay them $20,000 a year. Not even minimum wage. Walmart greeters make more.
ALPA national failed us all. The blob cares only to sustain itself.
Inspite of them, our day is here.

It's no wonder why many have chosen to fly for overseas carriers.
