I just finished spending 4 yrs 10 1/2 mos on furlough. I've spent almost a year of that time unemployed and took a staff job with the AF reserve rather than hore myself out in a low paying airline job. I think that V would do the same.
Just because you're a hore, don't assume that the rest of us are.
Note: unable to spell hore correctly due to language filters.

All do respect A320, I think the V man would rather be a male prostitute than to work for VA. SRB is attempting to cheapen our profession even more while he laughs all the way to the bank. SRB doesn't care about Pilots or workers. If he did, he'd stop flashing those pearly whites and pay up more cash. While I'd have a hard time denying someone the jump seat, I hope it never comes that. With those pro athlete wages he's paying, I'm sure his pilots can afford to live in Downtown San Fran and won't have a need to jump seat.

Branson does care about his employees!! From the British Airways lawsuit in 1993 Branson divided up all of the compensation won amoung the Virgin america employees. Virgin America is NOT bransons company! He does not oversee this operation. He contributed some start up capital and the brand name.
My point is dont blame branson for what other people have done.

Now I admit, he's brilliant and NO I'm not jealous. It was absolutely genious when he did the space flight thingy. I mean, people had loosely heard of the virgin name, but that space flight deeper engrained the virgin name in the psyche of the American mind. I still say **** on him.
As it pertains to me, as it pertains to our pay, as it pertains to this industry, SRB can, well ... I'm too much of a Christian to say what I really want. Suffice it to say, he's not welcome and I hope with fresh blood in Washington that recognizes the slippage of the middle class, we can keep him out. It's bad enough W let communist countries fly our cargo! I say keep them all out. I mean, come on. We already outsourced all the good paying manufacturing jobs. Pretty soon, we won't be able to move the freight that comes from china or their freight. The call signs will be All Nippon, Singapore Air, Air China ...

If it walks like a duck and squawks like a duck......
He would not have "contributed" his capital and his brand name if he did not care to reap the rewards. Do not pretend he does not have a vested interest.

VAI Partners LLC control 2/3 of the voting shares. It is their airline, not Virgin group. Virgin group only holds 2 of 8 seats on the board. So of coarse Branson would like to see Virgin America do well, seeing as it does have his companies name. But once again it is not Virgin group making decisions about the company or how much the employees are paid. They are only a minority shareholder in the company. VAI are the ones with control of Virgin America. Virgin isnt the first company to lend their name to other companies.

Competition is competition, alot of people have a hard time with that, that is understandable. There is a real fear of competition in todays environment. Pilot wages alone do not dictate profitability in todays or any other days environment in the airline business. We have to find the bottom before we can advance toward the top. This industry has not found the bottom yet.
