I remember a guy (DL dude maybe?) talking about always having a boogie bag with all your must have items ready to go on INTL layovers. I think he had to flee from a Mumbai hotel when it came under attack. Sucks that this is a concern.

There are certain cities in Europe that we fly to that we always designate a safe meeting point, should we have to evacuate the hotel. This decision is always made in the crew briefing before we even get to the airplane.

I don't think this type of stuff will ever happen in the good ole USA because Muslims in America tend to be affluent, highly successful people who like everyone else, chase the all mighty dollar...See in France, Muslims are treated like how the Blacks were treated in America not too long ago so therefore you will have incidents like this occur there..I am very sympathetic towards the victims but this stuff is happening due to oppression....Boston bombings were an isolated incident but you will never see the Paris type incident in America..Yes if people like you go out and start shooting innocent Muslims then by all means you will start to see stuff happen but on the most Part, America is safe...The Muslims in America tend to be Doctors, Lawyers, Businessmen, etc Too busy making money just like the Arabs of UAE or Qatar..They are not into violence as a hobby..

These sorts of cowardly acts are going to continue. They will continue because we are comparing apples to oranges. The followers of Isis do not value human life the same way normal people do they really don't care whether they live or die, it's very hard to combat that. Sorta like stopping kamikaze pilots in WWII. The only way you will stop Isis is wholesale eradication and that starts with containment. EVERY single Muslim male under the age of 45 is suspect, they need to be locked down. Flights in an out of Syria, and other areas with large Muslim populations need to be immediately stopped. The areas that are under Isis control need to be eradicated, depopulated. The problem is, this is inhumane and wont (and probably shouldn't) be supported by the US. Without doing this, we'll continue to see these sorts of cowardly attacks.

A long, expensive, multi-national socio/economic/political approach that would take decades and would be difficult if not impossible to pull off.

There is a huge disconnect among the two sides of this debate where one side recognizes that some cultures are truly incompatible with western values and speaks the truth about such incompatibilities, and then there is the other side with their collective head in the sand, refusing to acknowledge that not everyone will get along and play nice, shouting down anyone who disagrees with them, calling them racists and xenophobes.

Living in the age of decadence that we do is allowing such sheltered minds to exist.
