Wow what was it like when you started way back then? Thank you for all your great insight!

Hopefully you are a better investigator than a Captain. None of that is correct but it should be pretty evident where I came from...and how my views haven't changed since I started in this industry 10 years ago. Many of your posters want to bring the regional mindset to a 220 seat Airbus. We are not at Colgan anymore boys.

Picks up previously dropped mike and heads back onstage.

Colgan was awesome

{SNIP} Let's be clear, while many of us believe in the model at spirit we do not to the point that we are willing to subsidize it to make it successful. We will not vote for a contract that does not recognize our worth as professional pilots. {SNIP}

My most favorite part of your excellent post. I'm glad I stuck with the tread for 11 pages now.

Wow, I am impressed, 10 years!

Another thing I noticed is, we have lots of flights out of DFW and ORD, that over laps AA and UAL. We don't see any United or AA pilots on here saying "You're stealing our passengers." If anything, the UAL and AA pilots are happy with our flights, since it makes their commute easier. Window Seat should go look at the recent Sun Country contract and remember that they operate mostly out of MSP.

"If anything..." If anything most have no interest in getting involved in the latest food fight.

Both DL and AA mgt have decided they'll fight Spirit if they enter our markets. "If anything" we're glad to see the gloves come off.

Window Seat,

I don't reply or comment much I just lurk. You sir brought my out of my hole. You're an embarrassment not only to your airline but to your industry. I have some special insight to Delta pilots that were once as proud as you and could look down their noses at other pilots. They now throw curses at the name Delta when it pops up in conversation. See your airline is rebranding and rebuilding moral because it has to. Ask pilots that took early retirement so they would not loose their retirement from Delta! Ask them how the PBGC treated them after your beloved company's bankruptcy. Your company is not even a shadow of its prior self and you come on here because you are so bored with life and have such low self esteem that you need to taunt other pilots to make yourself feel better. It will never work for you, you will always be miserable no matter where you work. Times are good now for most but bad times will come...even at Delta. Ask some of the senior guys you fly with what leverage your union used during negotiations recently. They will tell you Spirit A320 Captain rates were a factor. There was no way a Delta Captain was going to be making less than a Spirit Captain on the same airplane.

I don’t know what the future holds. I am happy right now at Spirit, I think we can fix the insulting pay rates/raises they just shared with us recently. If a better opportunity comes along I may or may not turn it down. You think your safe just because your at Delta, think again. I have watched that play out in my lifetime already. Take my advice put the computer down, finish drinking the cool-aide, go try something impossible…like getting laid in your case and live life because tomorrow may not work out exactly like you think. You may be applying to Spirit for a job to get you through some rough times.

PS. Since it seems to be so important to you. I am home every night. I credit a lot of time and barely feel like I work. If you would like to PM we can compare notes and W2s. Of course it may be more fair to compare my W2 to the captain you are flying with. I have been here 5 years. If it does not work out I can still spend plenty of time at a Legacy to get a full retirement package and then some 25+ years. Good luck in your search for happiness…you will not find it on APC.
