Default Monthly Insurance Premiums

Can anyone shed some light on what they pay monthly out of pocket for their healthcare premiums? Medical, dental & vision for a family (themselves, wife & kids). What company? deductibles, etc. Thank you.

I pay nothing for premiums. $200 individual deductible/$300 family max out of pocket. Coinsurance is 80%, prescriptions free. Dental is $20/month I think for the family. I don't have vision insurance since we don't need it.

DAL

"Gold plan"

330/mo premium
$2600 deductible
I pay 20% after hitting deductible up to out of pocket max of approx 5000-6000.

Access to HSA.

Disgraceful how expensive. My only gripe.

Great thread. Here is a question that I have wondered about for a long time. For those of you that have a family member with chronic health issues, what has your insurance been like for more serious/life-long illnesses? Especially, for illnesses that require constant, and usually expensive, prescriptions. Also, what about medical devices? Full/partial/no coverage?

I have several family members with chronic health issues. No devices required, so I can't answer that part of your question, but for the rest, I just plan on hitting the maximum out of pocket every year. A FSA account can give you up to $2550 per year of your pretax money, saving a bunch in taxes. While you pay into it throughout the year, the entire amount is available on the first.

I have the most expensive of the 3 available AA plans, called the Value Plan. I pay just over $500 a month for a family plan. $350 per person deductible, $1050 maximum deductible per family. $20 copays. It's good insurance, but it's expensive. Some of the other plans have higher deductibles, and lower premiums, but this was our best bet this year.

Another question: Anyone have a diabetic family member? I've heard some pretty eye opening stories about what insurance companies will and will not cover for diabetics. I'm trying to figure out what the insurance companies for the major airlines will cover? Specifically, insulin, insulin pumps and the sensors/CGMs that go with some insulin pumps. I've heard some companies don't cover some of this stuff at all, which would be thousands out of pocket each month for me.
