I recently got some Serengetis (Claudio model) non polarized drivers gradient. Some of the old CRTs are difficult to see at times- Particularly the cross side MCDU screen. Generally
I've had no problem seeing PFD/NDs. All LED screens are very clear with the glasses (including both MCDUs).

I get the "oil effect" on the windows at times-usually at altitude. The oil effect doesn't seem to happen down low-during TO and landing for example.

Overall I like the tint of the glasses and the drivers gradient a lot. For me it's just the right amount of "shade" from exterior sun, and light enough to make out the interior clearly. Not being able to see the cross side MCDU without lifting my glasses is annoying. And the oil effect is annoying as well but tolerable since it only seems to occur when I'm not looking out the window much. Overall-they're better than anything I've had before, but not perfect.

Same here. I love the Maui Jim's from Costco and do the same for tuning the radio. If you fly with a "detail oriented" captain all you have to do is mis-tune the radio once and it seems to auto-tune for the rest of the leg.

Just make sure the green light lines up with the radio.

Default Serengetis----->AMEN

Flew the bus for 6 years..Also fly mil for 20+ years. Went through so many sunglasses. Best sunglass for me in any flying /driving environment are Serengetis. They provide a tint and clarity that is unmatched in anything else I have used (Ray-Ban, Oakley, Arnette, Maui Jim, etc). They sell them in CA at the Big 5 Sporting goods stores...have sales on them every few months or so - sometime down to $40 - you can try them on there. Like them so much, I bought 5 of the same pair. I am religious about keeping them protected and scratch-free. I have the Cascades FWIW.

American Optics! They are in the $25 price range and work great.

Ok I got a pair of Serengeti sunglasses model 6935 and I like the fit and style but the one problem I have is that they don't get dark enough. I guess I'm just hyper sensitive to sunlight. Does Serengeti make a darker version of the velocity? I see the term espresso but can't find any documentation to explain the different model numbers or what espresso means. I wish there was a store I could goto that sells the different styles so I could try them on. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many of us dealers just thought it was a new non polar variation. They have since updated their website and now it says "Polarized drivers gradient". Still a great pair of sunglasses, but has the negative effects of polarization in the cockpit. SIDE NOTE: I hope to get a look at the 2017 models this week and will let you all know if any great models are coming down the pipeline.

Where can I find the WN crew lounge / your location in PHX? Do you keep them in stock there or do you have to order them? Looking at getting the Velocity's.

Also, for the Bus drivers that already have them, do you like the Amber lenses or go with the green or gunmetal? I prefer gunmetal personally in my sunglasses but don't know how they would work on the Bus.
