Look at the task from the employer's point of view, would you want extremes of personality such as the super-religious guy, the inflexible rule-follower, or the opposite anti-authority maverick on your team? Although crude these can give a taste of somebody's behavior and outlook on the world. It is probably not a bad thing that most majors conduct the test.
In my opinion, its just another tool in the ole' toolbag that the airlines can use to NOT offer you a job if they don't like you for whatever reason. They are really simplistic and ask the same question 4 or 5 times throughout the test. I've said it on here many times--If you are related to some ********* that already works there, or can check the "right" box on the race/gender section, you could be Jeffrey Dahmer and your IN.

Makes no difference if you can fly or not.

Trust me, there are some certifiable Whack-a Doos on line right now.

Not sure why there is a personality test, pilots don't have any...ask a FA.

Bootleg - that doesn't explain the two guys with connections who got denied at the final table. There are no guarantees. One was an example of the system working as guys hope it would and the other 'rejected' was completely unexpected.

Soooo thats following a few assumptions. The biggest is the accuracy of the tests. Looking into some of these tests, they appear to be built on alot of assumptions. But what do I know.

The airlines HR depts do however have alot of control over what scores are acceptable. The problem is that many HR personel have not been on a 4 day trip with somebody. How the hell do they know if a candidate will be a good fit in the company, IF they do not see the largest side of the company on an operational basis. That would be like me in charge of hiring lav service personel. How the hell do I know who has the right personality to pump sh!t all day long? Just saying

I can tell you when HR takes over hiring, you start ending up with whack jobs and guys that have faked some (or a lot) of their experience.

Things most pilots would pick up on during a normal 30 min conversation.

Seen it happen at two different companies.

SWA does not have a personality test. Three part interview, a panel, LOE (line operation eval) and logbook review. No tests like the Hogan to get hired or interviewed.
