Reread the paragraph below. It clearly states that, for the last 30 years, United has been hiring minorities and females at ratios which continually exceed application ratios. Since math a nd commonsense don't appear to be your strong suits, allow me translate for you: minorities in females are hired at higher rates. With a fixed number of openings, that would logically mean others would have to be hired at lower rates. Ergo, the second attachment which pointed to the illegal practice of affirmative action whereby qualified applicants are being excluded based on race or sex. "The judge noted that "[i]n short, in terms of minority and female employment, United is not the company it was eighteen years ago" and that "all of the parties, including the EEOC, now affirm that since 1988 United has been hiring minority and female pilots at ratios which consistently exceed application ratios." I'm not going to continue this childish back-and-forth. You got what you asked for, with credible sources, and it still wasn't enough. As much as I wish you would just Go back to watching Star Wars with your nerdy friend, i'm quite sure you will come back with another illogical stand asking for more proof. |
CP to pilot.
Where's your hat? In my bag. Why isn't it on your head? It's too small. Well than buy a bigger hat. No, then it won't fit in my bag! Cp to female pilot. Where is your hat? In my bag. Why isn't it on your head? Because it won't fit with the bucking ponytail I have to wear to look PROFESSIONAL! To those who don't know. This is a NEW rule. Woman have been here for decades and never had a problem looking professional. A guy in Atlanta thinks Women look better/more professional if they put their hair in a ponytail. Hence new rule. There was no safety or secret story behind the change. |

Approximately 5% of airline pilots are female. Do you really think these numbers are affecting hiring rates for men in any remotely significant number? Of approximately 130,000 major airline pilots in the world, only 450 of them are female captains. They aren't sitting in your seat. |

I can understand not liking the policy, but creating fake outrage that Delta hates women, yada yada yada? Get over it. |

It's enough of a percentage for some of them to be suing their own airline (Frontier)so they can breast pump while at work. Troublemakers. |

Am I loosing sleep? no. Just brought it up with 5 seconds of typing. When you iron your shirt, shower and shave you don't think of this. But many women at that point are now told they have to put their hair up in a pony tail they are out of compliance and not professional. Is it too much to ask? TBD but it isn't necessary in my opinion. What goes through their mind at that point in the morning is this is BS. The CHANGE is uncalled for and more petty crap from an old man down in ATL towards women. As if the PROVE yourself BS they get daily in the cockpit isn't enough. Also NEWS FLASH this isn't the military. |
