"There is something rotten in the state of Denmark". It is a quote from Hamlet. It basically translates to mean that something is wrong with the situation. It is commonly misquoted as "There is something rotten in Denmark" which is actually a rare enhancement of an original quote.

BTW, we know where the quote was from, just having some fun at your expense! It would have been more accurate if you had said, " Something's rotten down in Hooterville."

I want an equivalent amount of compensation in the new company for the 2400 hours of sick leave which I have accumulated and which DAL proposes to draw down.

i suppose.... thing is, it doesn't matter what we all want, because it's all so much out of our control, so all our ranting and raving is just that. it will be what it will be, and there isn't much we can do about any of it except talk to our reps. and i have done lots of that lately.
all these forums are getting really quiet now.. and very boring. so ya'll have fun... i'm outta here.

solution
all dal and nwa pilots need to pressure alpa to block this merger at any means possible. that way we can wish each other the best of luck, and go our different ways. all the other mergers of ual, usair, cal, are dead in the water, this one can be with some pressure.

You folks that try to make the case that NWA pilots should be paid lower after the merger because some of us have a DB pension plan are a minority at Delta. I can't prove that, but I really believe most Delta pilots see that as an extremist view.

Carl, Is that not exactly how NWA has structured their DC plan. A pilot with a full DB plan gets nothing from the DC plan. Why should we not adopt the model that NWA felt was fair in their contract?

salingfun,
I believe that what was negotiated before was basically NWA keeping their current plan and DAL keeping theirs. The costs for going this route were very similiar for both pilot groups on a cost per pilot basis.

What you don't understand is that without these mergers, once cabotage is allowed, we will get buried by the European carriers unless we are as big or bigger than them to compete. You need to think strategically, not tactically. It's about what is going to happen 10 years down the road, not the next two years.
