NWA Merger Stuff

Yeah, but even though they are nice, they sure are a pain to wear when you go from Fargo to Atlanta. I had one and wore it for one year. They get a little hot when hoofing it from one terminal to the next.
Time to mount up and wear the double breasted jacket.

1. Only required to wear ANY jacket from Oct through May. 2. The leather jacket is also usable on layovers by removing the epaulets. Since a lot of NWA pilots commute, it saves some space in your bag. 3. There is a rumor that the new DAL is going to a single breasted jacket for all pilots. Apparently they don't like the idea of approx. half the pilots walking around in brand new uniforms and the other half walking around in uniforms that are in varying states of 'years in service.' 4. I still like the joke about the $400 uniform allowance, but if I had a choice of wearing the hat and ditching the jacket or ditching the hat and keeping the non-leather jacket, the hat would be history. 5. The original approval of the optional hat policy at NWA came from ... Richard Anderson.

Yeah,
The letter said we were going to use the current Delta uniform due to brand recognition or something like that...........like anyone actually cares what kind of jacket we wear. Me thinks they decided to not spend the money for all of us to get a new design.
What is disappointing is they didn't have the balls to at least run a survey like Delete Pete did. They would have found out that the hat could be optional and lots of Delta guys were buying leather jackets in India.
I'm in violation of the cardinal rule of don't post after drinking. However, never mind my never mind. ACL, you have a firm grasp of the obvious! We will wear what we're told to.......just don't expect me be counting the days till I "get to".

King,
Actually they took the jacket dates out of the FOM last year. I think it was in conjunction with making the leather jacket an option. That way, you can carry your leather jacket in a warm termainal.
