Flow Through
Can someone give me the quick and dirty on NW's connection carriers and flowthrough agreements. Do Pinnacle and Compass both have a seperate flow through agreement? Are there any other connection carriers? Considering all the connection carriers we have just on the DAL side this has the potential to be a real mess.

Flow throughs for Compass and Mesaba, none for Pinnacle. Compass operates the E175s, Mesaba operates the CR9s(and a few CR2s I think). Pinnacle operates CR2s for NW, and CR9s for DAL, but that point is moot since they don't have a flow through agreement.
Compass pilots are only eligible for flow up if they have been with Compass for 30 months, and are a CA. Since all of the pilots(except for maybe 4 that were involved in the certification process) have been at Compass less then that, none are eligible. If the pilot is offered flow up, and rejects, he/she will no longer be eligible for flow up. Those who bypass flow up will remain senior to the flow backs.
Mesaba is a bit different, I think they just have to be CA's, as it is offered by seniority(I believe) In regards to flow backs, only an equal amount to the flow throughs can flow back. I believe there were 18 that flowed through to mainline, so if furloughs occured, only 18 can flow back.
Thats all I know, and I believe it to be fairly accurate.

The most senior of any potential group of furloughs get the right to have a seat at Compass. Mesaba would not provide much in the way of furlough protection for mainline pilots at all.

Yes, the number who flow up will also flow down at Mesaba. The difference between compass and Mesaba's flow through is we have flow back protection, so less flow up per month, but our whole list can't be wiped out if NWA/DAL furlough.

It is indeed.
DAL/NWA pilots have the right to flow back to a seat at Compass (if they choose to exercise that right in the event of a furlough).
Compass pilots, in return for risking job security by acting as a safety net for mainline furloughs, get to flow up to mainline in times of hiring at the rate of up to 20 per month and no more than 25% of the compass seniority list in any year (which would be about 90 pilots in a year).
The Mesaba language is that only the number that flowed up could flow back and that is currently 13 pilots. The flow up at Mesaba is a much lesser amount than Compass.
NWA pilots with those E-175s were at mainline and so do Compass pilots. If the contract wasn't forcibly altered in bankruptcy there would probably be NWA pilots flying them today, as well as the other 36 larger jets at Mesaba.
