So, do you staff based on previous work rules, or the new negotiated rules?

I assume (you know where that can lead...) that for the purposes of SLI arbitration, y'all bring your work rules and staffing levels and we bring ours in order to determine the fair and equitable list. After the list and DCC, you guys are in for some big gains in CA positions because of the new rules.

OBTW, where do you guys sleep on the 330?

d. on the A-330 aircraft:
1) the relief seat will be contained in a separate compartment located just aft of the cockpit door which contains:
a) one fold-down bunk bed,
b) a fold-down relief seat, and
c) a jumpseat,
2) and is provided with a lockable door to the compartment.

It also has the PED plug (115VAC power for your laptop or whatever if you can't sleep on your break). The fold down bunk is like a Chinese puzzle the first few times you try to unfold it...

The jumpseat is authorized for use during takeoff and landing if the door remains open, however, on augmented flights the occupant of that jumpseat must be CASS approved to sit in the pit while the relief pilot is on break.

Yes, we are looking at 2010 for the departure of the 744 and DC-9's. This is part of DAL's fleet plan assuming the merger is completed. .

:confused:Guess I'm confused. I thought I read RA saying he wanted to move 747-400s to ATL to fly ATL-NRT cuz the -777 can't do it with 403 passengers. Why would he now want to park them. Boeing coming up with a 400 seat LR -777?

They will come to ATL. The duration is what is up in the air.

Wow, even our bunks are better than yours!!:D Just kidding. On the ER that flies over 12 hours we have the condo, an enclosed room just behind the forward galley where the middle two 1st row 1st class seats are. Two full bunks and a stand up shelf/closet. Really nice to sleep 6 hours of a 12 hour flight. From what I hear the 330 will start flying those routes from JFK that our T-models (767T) fly. Tel Aviv rocks! Amman has Petra.

Just curious Carl... what do you care about any of this anyway? Aren't you and 1000 of your closest friends leaving?

Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I'm 52 and it looks like I'll have to stay until 58 or 59.

The A330 won't be flying ANYTHING over 12 hours without a second bunk being installed OR a concession to force a pilot to use the FA bunks. The current bunk room is one person capacity.
