If he could publish the flight number/date I will make sure this is taken care of. I will apologize for this idiot that would treat a jumpseater this way and I am sorry he had to go through this. All Dal pilots are welcome on our jumpseats, but to address this problem I need specific information.

If it is true it would be nice to post some names so we know who we're dealing with.

Well, let's not post names on a public forum. We can get the name from the date/flight number.

The NWA guys are a whole lot more "loving" now that they've seen their pay, equipment and stuff they can bid on. The "culture of hate" you referenced seems to have given way to spring flowers, dandelions, and thoughts of sugar plums.

I'd imagine the NWA guys have no problem carrying Delta pilots to the jobs that the NWA pilots bid out of. I for one will use the time to pick up tips on cold weather operations in the DC9. Heck, since they will be new to "my" airplane, they might even want to know something about the Air Driven Demand Pump. After all it can turn hot air into hydraulic force.

Now if we could harness my web board angst into power, we'd be free of Middle East Oil.

I've written elsewhere that I have ridden on NWA jumpseats twice now, and the crews were perfect gentlemen... except fot the female, and she was pretty nice too This captain was an ass no 2 ways about it. Time for you NWA guys to take care of this sort of thing in house.

An action such as this should and will not be tolerated! Sailingfun if you want to pm me additional info such as date and flight number and city pairing I will personally follow up on this. ALL DAL pilots are always welcome on our aircraft! Please appologize to him from all of the NWA pilots.

It is being handled via the jumpseat coordinator. I have personally used NWA jumpseats and have been treated great every time. I felt bad for this pilot since he is a new hire.

I have not flown with any CAs who have denied DAL jumpseaters. Quite the opposite. Both on the DC9 and the 320 my personal experience has been that we have taken great care of are DAL brethren. I will be certain to speak up if I encounter otherwise, because Jumpseat denial due to airline colors is UNACCEPTABLE!

Heyas,

If this report is accurate (we shouldn't jump to conclusions), then it will be handled. MSP is MSP, and there are some old duffer townie types that think that commuting should be made as hard as possible, and that you should just live in base.

Every airline has them. I traveled from ATL-FLL one time on a DAL 767-400 on the JS, and I was made to feel as uncomfortable as possible by the same type of captain, only DAL style. But I got a ride home, so I bit my f-in tongue for the hour it took to get home. Clearly this guy didn't want me there because having people on the jumpseat was "unprofessional" (we all remeber those dark days).

Ironically, I sat and chatted with the FO for a bit after we got in. Just to make conversation, I said to him "you guys have a lot of big airplanes" (this was back in the 767-200/L1011 days), and he goes "yea, but we don't have the biggest, like you guys". At first I thought he was joking, but he was serious. It just goes to show the grass is always greener...
