Probably just the ones that don't meet minimums. They might just hire and see who can get thru training....

That might be true. Only 2/3rds of my class made it through. I would guess some other regionals have a lower washout rate. But, all regionals all wash people out in training - no regional passes everyone.

In my personal observation, when I went through, Mesa had a training program in the SIMs that was top notch.

30% failure rate? Is that average in the industry?

Back when I was a New hire in 2014 most everyone made it though now they are less picky due to the pool and failures are a lot higher. Aqp still has a pretty high pass rate though.

Seems a little high. At some point a high failure rate is going to reflect on the quality of instruction being given.

I believe the instruction to be top notch once you get to the SIMs. After all, I made it through with no issues. I have friends at other regionals and all regionals are all experiencing a higher failure rate than in the past.

It isn’t just the typical pipeline pilot who is failing. I am also not sure my class was indicative of all classes. But, you only get so much instruction before you wash out.

Are we using AQP for new hire training now?

To say it’s top notch is a gross exaduration. That being said, you can only do so much with the quality of applicants that are attracted.

“Exaduration”: yep, you can only do so much with the talent we attract. I have done initial and recurrent SIM training with Flight Safety and CAE on different aircraft. At least on the Ejet, our instructors were better than any I have experienced. I think when you compare our instructors favorably, “top notch” is the correct term.
