So you are saying that the fact Mesa is upgrading someone with only 3 months with the company and low hours is a wise decision and makes for a safe cockpit? What about my thinking this is not makes me self righteous?

Other companies hire guys directly into the left seat with 0 hours/months with the company. Then they sit reserve and fly with new FOs. No different.

No, it starts in January and if there are any left they carry over into the next year. It was only October last year because that was the implementation date off the new contract.

You can argue and try to prove yourself all you want. My point is Mesa upgrading a guy in 3 months and just at 1000 hours in not safe. I would say the same of other places as well that do the same. Big difference when a company hires a street captain that already has lots of experience.
