That would be 24 total since the transfers started last October. There were also a few ejet to crj. But I agree, I didn't think we hit 24 yet

I guess if it was October to September, and 12 per year, we might have hit 12 in the first year.

So you are saying that the fact Mesa is upgrading someone with only 3 months with the company and low hours is a wise decision and makes for a safe cockpit? What about my thinking this is not makes me self righteous?

Other companies hire guys directly into the left seat with 0 hours/months with the company. Then they sit reserve and fly with new FOs. No different.

1% can transition aircraft per year generally? Am I hearing this incorrectly?

No, it starts in January and if there are any left they carry over into the next year. It was only October last year because that was the implementation date off the new contract.

Yes. So, if we stay at 1300 pilots there will be 13 allowed to transfer next year.

If you feel this strongly call the FAA. Nearly half of the regionals have street captains. If they take your advice they’ll be an even bigger RJ pilot shortage. Good luck man. But you’re probably trolling.

Most of these already have several thousand hours. Big difference.
