I didn’t post about the IAH pilot seniority list a few days ago when it came out.
A couple of observations:
1. We fell from 328 (August) to 312 (September) FO’s in IAH. We only added one FO to the seniority list in August 2018.
2. We increased from 264 (August) to 275 (September) CA’s in IAH. Our junior captain was hired in April 2018. 5 months from doh to CA.

23-B-7 New hire pilots may be subject to a three (3) month base
lock upon release from training. Following the three months,
the pilot may bid and be awarded a different domicile based
on their standing bid as provided for herein. The company
may waive this provision at their discretion.

Thanks, I'd be interested in your findings. After giving it some more thought, I would hope the worst that could happen to Fred is that he could lose his line in DFW temporarily if several slightly more senior folks transfer in from IAD when vacancies open up.
Jon and his classmates on the other hand, could still be in a bind after their base lock ends if there aren't enough vacancies in DFW as there are bids. Thus, some folks will be waiting longer than 3 months to transfer.

Hopefully Standing Bids will keep up on this a little better in order to limit the time new hires have to stay at IAD. I have a feeling that those of us at the beginning of this implementation of the base lock just got the short end of the stick. I talked to a new hire in the first class that was affected by the base lock and was a previous Mesa pilot so he got through training quickly. He will have been at IAD for a little over 4 months out of IOE. Most of us regular new hire schmucks will have seen 2-3 months at IAD. Me personally, it will have been 3 months and 6 days at IAD.
