Per regulations, you do not have to have required rest to take a DH as it's not a FDP. Now if your contract says that you will probably SOL in trying to get them to dead head you out early.

I know at Republic, our company has changed DH's at request to earlier flights that did not meet legal rest requirements. This was after the last day canceled the night before, due to a snow storm coming in and all flights that would have met legal definitions being canceled.

If they might use you on reserve (or Junior man) after the deadhead, then you would need the rest. Maybe they do that because it doesn't cost anything to make you sit at the hotel, and it keeps their options open?
Rest before a deadhead May be required under certain circumstances.

117.3, deadhead transportation that is followed by a flight segment without an intervening rest period is part of an FDP and is subject to the FDP limits in Tables B and C. All other deadhead transportation is not part of an FDP and is not subject to any limits under part 117.

Right, but the trip I'm referring to has a DH on the last day with no other flying being done.

I understand but I didn't want the misinformation about deadhead and FDP to stand.

Were I you I would look for these and bid them specifically and then just drop the deadhead - by calling CS an hour before it's departure. There's a procedure for it in the contract. You still get paid for it.
