Is it Disney?!
Read up....they are starting an airline, and "acquiring a small/regional" airline ti run the plans
First I have heard of it....

Notice how this is "plural"?

The Disney Company is apparently poised to start acquiring small, regional carriers in 2021.

2021? Sounds like perfect timing for a Mesa, GoJet and Compass venture! They would fit that operation well.

Dang. I didn't realize large, successful corporations telegraphed their plans to make large capital expenditures 2 years ahead of their plan to pull the trigger.

What do the cargo guys on here think is a respectable rate for the Mesa 737’s? Southern Air rates? Something higher since Southern is low anyways? Something a bit higher since we probably won’t be home based?

I would shoot for major/legacy 737 rates. I get $136 per hour on year 3 pay, and get a 15% 401k contribution. Healthcare is also premium free, with $2500 max out of pocket per year.

JO would have no issues staffing the 737 with that, but again, so wouldn't Southern.

Ok, I appreciate you and the others that have answered what they hope for us. I’m not expecting legacy rates, but something comparable in the cargo world of 737 flying. I’m hoping/expecting rates for that aircraft along the lines of Spirit/Frontier/JetBlue and not just Southern’s old rates, but that will be up to the negotiationing committee and the MEC.

Does the Mesa contract have strong enough language to keep a new fleet type out before pay is negotiated? I hope you get that too, but I’m expecting southern or worse. Hope your mec doesn’t take anything less then lcc rates.

Out of our contract....”should the company elect to operate an aircraft not listed on the wage rate charts, the parties will agree on pay rates for said aircraft prior to operation by the Company.”

Seems pretty clear to me.

Watch your MEC Chairman
He will sell it like a hot cake whatever management proposes
Sad but history will repeat itself with him on the table
The print shop fiasco during contract 2003 got him to say yes to everything
Oh I forgot, the other musketeer from the print shop fiasco joined management right afterwards .
