If displacement were to another base I might wait. If wanting to make money I might wait. There’s going to be a premium on flying the 700 as guys transition to the Ejet.

You would think but Mesa has been good about placing DFW SDF reserves in iAd to cover open time. If you noticed the open time emails rarely have IAD flying. They realized no one lives there to pick up last minute unlike DFW.

So in light of the recent turn of events... Would someone like to share their 2 cents about what’s going to happen to the new E175’s coming in May?

i know it’s too soon to know for sure, things are changing every minute and all that, just trying to know what are your thoughts in the matter.

I’d say United won’t be in a financial position to retrofit the 700’s into 550’s anymore for the foreseeable future, specially if Congress approve# the bail out to airlines it will come with conditions, so expenditure on unnecessary things will be shaved. If United doesn’t modify those 700’s will GoJet still take them? If they don’t will mesa still take delivery (this time a net gain) of 25 new airframes? Can we still afford them? Will they be put to generate revenue on an industry that just reduced 60% of flying?

Is Dulles people still going to training for it to start with?

Too early to tell. I’d be more concerned with staying healthy and doing our jobs which is to make sure those that do choose to travel get safely and efficiently to their destinations. When it all shakes out we will see where regional flying in general fits in scope. The 550s May be in a sweet spot.

According to JO last week, we are still getting the 20 E175’s as scheduled. Who knows what will
happen after getting them here.

Heard a saying from a guy, some of you may know him. Great guy. He said “Mesa is the cockroach of the airline industry, nuclear war will happen and Mesa will still survive”.

Congress just handed United Airlines a check for several billion dollars. Do you think Congress is going to want to hear about Scope and Union contract protection at this time? Hell no they won’t. They want to know, “what are YOU going to do to survive this turmoil until this economy turns around?”. The answer? Mesa Airlines!

Turn those mostly empty 737 runs between IAH and DFW into mostly full 175s.

Wait! What about Sky West, Endeavor and all the rest with their 175s? Forget them! Mesa goes first at the front of the line. They cost United the least, therefore allow the most profit for UA to survive. Mesa first, everyone else shuffle in behind them.

We survive!
