An announcement to my fellow MESA pilots,
I’m not sure if anyone read the MOU that was signed last month by the MEC Chairmen, but it reduced our guarantee based on the flying. Probably not news to most, but one interesting detail not mentioned is that you will still only get 11 days off still while flying for reduced guarantee. Effectively flying for less pay. This was not sent out to the pilot group for approval and signed in less than 24 hours without consensus from the pilot group.
Crew scheduling now sends out a message effectively saying the quantity of reserve Pilots are now being stepped up. This post is just to inform the pilot group of what is being done without their consent.

Before this MOU gets extended, there needs to be some actual negotiations and then sent out for a vote. That’s what I think anyway.

Don’t worry. AH and JO have your back. Mesa to declare BK again. Flying shed. Was rinse repeat. Profit margins are razor thin at Mesa.

I concur. The Union should not be able to negotiate anything compensation related without a pilot wide vote. The fact that this was done in less than a day without entire pilot group being aware is not right. We should all have a say if our pay is going to be decreased.

Just a small technicality..this wasn’t about pay rates, our rates haven’t changed. That said, obviously a reduction of guarantee is an overall pay cut - and a substantial one at that.
