Even if they raise the pay like they did at AAWO, people will still leave for ULCC. The fact is you will make more money at a LCC the first 10 years, than if you stay at a AAWO with the current pay rates permanently, or even with flow.
Know two people so far who left envoy for southwest and another for Frontier.
The AAWOs at this point is to just get your hours (at an increased pay rate) and leave asap. The pay rates may prevent them from being a DEC at another regional like endeavor, but no one is staying there for sure.

I believe all 3 WO's at AA will do that. My neighbor just got his 1000 hours SIC and upgraded to Captain at PSA but he's leaving soon for Delta. He's aggravated that he could be getting the same pay as F/O and holding CLT where he lives rather than commuting to PHL to fly as PIC. Only advantage is he's getting some turbine PIC time but since he has a class date at DL that's not really a priority.

I told him to enjoy flying with his favorite Captain while he can. Right now he's looking at 5 years with DL before holding Captain (unless he does NYC bases).

If Delta had a class slot suddenly open he'd be gone in a heartbeat. He understands very well how critical seniority is. He was supposed to be sitting at home waiting for IOE until his Delta class starts but then PSA got an FAA waiver for LCA's to have 500 vs. 1000 or something like that and he wound up quickly getting his OE finished and the FAA ride done.
