Default What to prepare for 175 Training

Got a 175 class date coming up in December, they send a limited list of what to expect but how is 175 training really conducted? They send over a study guide/flows and limitations but don't specify whether it is advisory or needs to be committed to memory prior to training. What is the training schedule like? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You’re going to hear study what’s in front of you, but what they sent you is a huge advantage to start working on.

Maybe a few things per week. Start some of those flows and work on memorizing those limitations. When u start you’re going to be moving fast reading the CFM and GOM.

If you are not intimately familiar with the material they sent, you will probably be behind on day 1. If this is your first 121 job, you will have to actually pay full attention during indoc. week.

Review the study guide prior to Day 1, have a general idea of every system before coming in. During indoc when you download your manuals begin memorizing every limitation in chapter 2 of the CFM, most of these aren’t listed on the study guide. This will give you a head start for systems and make it more of a review. Once you’re comfortable with this focus on your EPC’s, flows, callouts, and profiles. If you can have these committed to memory before your FPT you will be fine for sims. Good luck.

Currently in line for a January class. Still sitting in that radio silence period though. How soon did you start receiving updates for your December date?

Having spent over a decade flying at Mesa, I would advise you to have the aircraft limitations memorized when you finally show up for day one.

Past that, don’t worry too much about everything else until you are actually in class.
Once there, your ground school instructor will let you know what to be working on every night after class.

Just take things day by day- hour by hour if you start to feel overwhelmed.
Training is a marathon- not a sprint.

PM me if you would like to.

Looks like I may be Mesa-bound with a May training date on the E175! Does anyone have an idea of when I should expect the study guide mentioned to be sent? It's going to be interesting to see how this pivot from AA to UA shakes out over the next few months. Keeping my fingers crossed for no or limited delays in the process but it seems like Mesa is one of the quicker options to get into a seat these days.

Default Training footprint and locations

Would anyone mind sharing the training footprint, i.e. # weeks indoctrination, systems, procedural trainers, etc? Also, is that all conducted in Phoenix? And is simulator training also in Phoenix or do they send pilots far and wide for that? Specifically thinking about the E175. Thanks in advance.

Default Any Updates?

Has anyone heard of any further possible delays for the April start dates that had been pushed back from Feb already?
