Since those 900's are owned by DAL, mesa had better be on their best behavior. DAL would be reluctant to fire a 900 operator who owns their own planes because those are a hot commodity (even today), and they would quickly end up flying for a competitor. But mesa is easy to get rid of (gotta give DAL some credit for setting it up that way in the first place).
