Nordo,
The majority of the MEC is of the standpoint that we are still learning and working out the bugs with the PBS system, therefore they think it's premature to opt out of PBS. While I can understand that viewpoint we have til Dec to decide to retain or toss PBS. However the MEC, from what I've heard, does not appear to have any intention of sending it out to the membership for a vote. Most are senior guys and PBS is working for them... besides PBS was their "crown jewel" in our new contract. Personally I would've spend my time concentrating on eliminating the current loopholes in our old contract, getting 13 days off for lineholders, 11 for rsvs and BorB.

If you are talking about the MEC as JO's PHX-based golf buddies, then you are 100% correct. My ALPA rep has been drinking the kool-aid and telling me that PBS is the greatest thing since sliced white bread and that I should be grateful for being sent to the street with the help of PBS and Management's hosing the pilot group.
One of my downgraded CA buddies asked the MEC "leadership" if we are going to have a vote in/before December, and was told that it was going to cost $18,000 or something to set up the balloting, so probably no "formal" vote would take place which is utter B*. The MEC "leadership" sure seems to be more disposed to represent the folks who are between 1 and 200 on the global list... and I'm with you on making the contract better, and getting actually better QoL things up front, not incrementally as they seem to be doing and then acting like 3rd graders with a gold star on their homework.
It remains to be seen whether or not we keep that crappy system or not... I hope not.

Start recall votes then until the cost for the balloting for those exceeds $18,000. Wonder how many that would be.
Sad part about being in Mesa and as a volunteer for the MEC there is that the pilot group is so detached from the union, with the exception of a vocal minority. You say they're screwing over us junior guys (and I'm in the same furlough boat as you) but the pilot group gives so little guidance to the MEC that it's really our own fault.

I'm not even sure I understand What The EFF that means. I'm a furloughed Mesa pilot, and for the most part everyone I know hates PBS, even a few of the senior guys do because the results are (1) NOT reliable and (2) are subject to more than a little manipulation by management with little "tricks" like "Unstacking". Not to mention FLiCA and PBS are not even close to being in sync because of Management manipulation of the system.
If you don't know what you're talking about, sometimes it's better to just say nothing. Peace out.

The majority of YOUR MEC does not want to send a vote to the pilot group on PBS. They are on management’s side with this one.
Do you understand now, ‘dude?’
‘Peace out.’
