Mesa Recall Numbers
Has anyone heard anything about the number of pilots returning or plan on returning back to Mesa after this first round of recalls?

The numbers came out last night. Go to mesa-air.com under the employee site. You will see how many people bypassed and who got CRJ or Dash 8. |
I thought Mesa was about to go out of business a while back..... what's going on over there now days?

So let me get this straight... To get a class of twenty two, they had to go through a hundred people on the list?
|
No Response?
What happens to those who did not respond? According to the contract, they are required to respond within 7 days of receipt of the notice. I noticed the vast majority of them did not respond and was just wondering what's going to happen to them. I wonder if that would be considered as resignation.
I am in the early 1000's so I won't go back any time soon, but I was just curious on those no responses. |

I saw it different but I may be wrong?? To fill about 12 CRJ and 4 Dash slots they had to go to number 33 on the list. About 50% return rate. The recall letter asked would you take a recall on the Dash would you take a recall on the CRJ, would you take a recall on either, or do you bypass. It looks like after the top 33 most replied Im not taking a recall this round or I will only fly the CRJ so they had to go to number 133 or so to fill the remaining 6 Dash slots. The rest that would take a recall only wanted the CRJ and to fill another class of 20 CRJ pilots they would need to call to about 75 on the list. Around 50% is much higher then I would have thought but math was never my best subject so maybe I'm seeing the numbers wrong. |
I am trying to locate a Mesa pilot that I worked with a long time ago; last I talked to him - about five years ago - he was based in Phoenix. If a current Mesa pilot would PM me, I'll give you his name and maybe you could forward a message to him for me. (Sorry this is not really related to the original thread, but I figured Mesa guys would be reading it!)

If MAG gets bought out or merge by any airline during the recall process, (of course after BKrupt), are the furloghes will be put at the bottom of the seniority?

But what you describe is indeed the historical precedent for pilot list integrations during mergers/acquisitions. |
Seniority Number
Whats the deal with the seniority numbers at Mesa? Allegedly we are losing 20-30 pilots a month to attrition but Ive been at the same number for like a month! Add to that the pilots who didnt respond to to the recall, I should be about 40 spots higher on the list me thinks.

Not knowing where you stand, but is there a possibility that people junior to you are leaving after deciding that being at the bottom of the list someplace else might be better than near the bottom at Mesa?

Rumor
I know, I know... rumors arent true alot of the time lol, but I did hear that a VP came into the first Dash recall class and told them that the Feb CRJ classes are going to cancelled. Anyone hear the same thing?
If so, I wonder why Mesa might do this with all the attrition going on? Maybe to make their cash flow/balance sheet look better for coming out of BK? Or maybe look better to an acquiring company? Just speculation....sorry |
You know who to call. Rumor central. Drama.

Recall delayed?
I just heard that Mesa is delaying the recall. Is the attrition rate slowing down dramatically or what's going on?

Time to upgrade at Mesa Airlines
Hi Guys and Gals,
I am part of the 496 waiting to the recalled by MAG. Does anyone knows the time to upgrade based on equipment and base. You can PM me if you don't want to tied up the thread. Thanks |
crj is about 7 to 8 years along with dash. It was about 3 to 4.
|
-1 from the list here. It feels good knowing that when I decline, another dude will get his job back that much sooner.
|
The way things are going, probably best to get a job elsewhere and keep your seniority number in your back pocket. First recall CRJ classes arent even happening till April at least now. Best hope is Mesa gets acquired or merges and hopefully you dont get stapled at the bottom of another seniority list.

Wow, It looks like I can get more reliable info here on APC than from the Mesa MEC emails or their facebook page. I just checked the mesa furlough website and it has the CRJ classes as pending now. You guys were right, I wonder when the Mesa MEC will let their furloughs know.

Last I heard was two CRJ classes for March, and two for April. Apparently the two for March are long classes for people who haven't flown the CRJ before, and the two in April are short 'recurrent' classes for people that have already flown the CRJ. Heard theres already grievances being filed for junior people being recalled into the March classes over more senior people getting the April classes.
More rumor mill BS or is anyone else hearing something similar? |

I don't think it has anything to do with previous experience on type; the short courses are for the recent furloughs who haven't completely dequaled.

Quite a few of the vol furloughs were from the erj. Probably a mix of both.
|
Out of the 480 on furlough, does anyone actually know how many are still with the company? I have heard as many as half have left all together without the company knowing. Can anyone confirm or add to this? Also, will they be running recall classes every month until all furloughs are returned to active duty?

Recall #2 Underway
Found out from a friend that second recall notices are being sent out via Fedex. I think 18 CRJ FO and 6 Dash pilot thru June. Info on Mesa furlough website has been updated.
|
Bummed
Checked the updated site. Cmon Mesa, I dont even get a FedEx letter this time. At least let me have a glimmer of hope that everyone above me will defer and I get to come back. 144 FedEx letters this time for those who dont care to go to the site. The waiting continues.

What else is new? j/k! They can't officially say anything until it is already happening. Unofficially, the MEC can pass information on forums like this one. |
Did anyone save the older file with all the recalls on it?
Thanks |
Yes I did...........
|
If they need 18 CRJ FO and 6 Dash pilot thru June, why they bother to send 144 letters? unless 144 expecting to be recall thru june. I haven't heard anything from our mec yet, but it caught my attention "D8 FO anticipated classes: May 2011 - June 2011" and "CRJ FO anticipated classes: April 2011 - June 2011".

The company never said how many will be in any of the classes for recalls. could be 100 or it could be 1. 6 dash and 18 crjs was last recall, and they are just starting the CRJ classes from first recall. Only thing company has said is that they plan to run recall classes every month for the forseeable future. Recall letter returns are coming back as we speak. check the updates on Mesa-air employee section link
|
Sounds like the CRJ recall class that just started this week only has 3 in it!
|
Just noticed round #2 recalls postponded on the company website. How long is it delayed? Did the company offer the reason for the delay? All bases are properly staffed and attrition rate is slowing down?
