No more classes until some time this summer is the latest rumor, I'm sure when they've CX'd enough from no one being able to take a JRA from timing out and the D0/A14 numbers go into the crapper they'll run a class or two. PPPPPP. (Prior Planning Prevents P*** Poor Performance).
Anyone know what the attrition numbers are looking like? The MEC is so good about keeping us all updated.
How many folks who came back did so just to get current and booked off to GoJet or SkyWest? Go fast if that's your plan, there's going to be a glut of RJ drivers from PCL on the street soon, I feel bad for them...

If it was not for your MEC you would not have a job at Mesa.
They saved your Bacon during Bankruptsy if you are not a 2003 hire.

Ferverda letter 03/23:
Friends/Crewmembers:
A couple of rumor control notes:
Aaron Ehlert sent a note that some sources were advising that Mesa was cancelling some of the furlough recall classes scheduled for April. Definitely not so. In fact we are moving folks up from later classes to account for no shows in previous 2012 classes and are preparing to put out the big last recall of the remaining group of some 180.
This is the background on a possible move of our Williams Field Training Center to a location more centrally located near Sky Harbor. Our contract with Arizona State University to provide aviation major students flight training thru our Mesa Pilot Development, MAPD, division expires this coming July. MAPD has been a University flight curriculum provider for 20 plus years first with San Juan Junior College in Farmington and for the past 10 years with Arizona State University, ASU. The 2 Deans, Dr. Ron Carp and Dr. Bill McCurry who founded the ASU aviation 10 years ago and who have been our close associates and ardent supports have both recently retired. The new ASU leadership has limited aviation experience and has proven difficult to work with. We did respond to their request for a proposal to renew the contract but we are not prepared to commit to their new contractual requirements and anticipate the contract will go to another provider such as CAE. Enrollment numbers for the fall term 2012 are down and the revenue projection is down accordingly making the whole present MAPD association with ASU questionable. HR 5900 will have even a larger negative impact on enrollment in these programs in the future. Our Williams facility belongs to ASU and as a result we are exploring training locations near Sky Harbor to be prepared to move this summer should the need arise. The CAE Williams CRJ sim will swap out with the CAE CRJ sim at the US Airways facility and we will have exclusive use of that simulator like we do the one at Williams. Kind of back to the good old days of 3838 V.B. and E. Broadway. Will keep you posted of additional developments.
A new recall class started this past Monday. 4 net no shows who are being moved up to earlier classes from original later classes to net 0. Section 6 this past Mon and Tues here in PHX.
Thanks and regards,
Mike

Well, if that's all true, then it's better news than I heard which was no classes until later in the summer, although my info came about six days later than the note from MF was dated so something might have changed between 3/23 and then.
As for the MEC comment, I don't doubt that the MEC has done great work for the pilot group as a whole and I compliment them for their efforts and support them. I just wish that they were a bit better a communicating what's up with the folks who are on the street, if information is available why can't they get it out and share it with all the remaining furloughees as perhaps something more than rumor? That's the reason for my snark, sorry for the confusion or if I offended anyone.

JO needs to learn to get things in writing with his partners along with not having an escape clause for his codeshares if there is a bankruptcy filing.

Well I get it and that is bull. ALPA national prime concern is maintain dues coming in. They dont care how much you make as long as they get there cut. It is a closed shop. Every ALPA regional has suffered under the protection of ALPA since the main concern for ALPA national is mainline pilots.

LMFAO !!!!
Dude, you really need to review the industry over the last decade. For all intents and purposes, ALPA has been nowhere to be found except on the phone to their personal financial analysts manipulating their multi-million dollar portfolios.
When you get that, you may realize ALPA is THEM, not you.
