The cost of living is comparable to that of Manhattan and Brooklyn, and for no reason other than it's the nation's capital. Too hot and humid in the summer and too cold and dreary in the winter.
Plus on top of the cost of living, seems like a horrible place to raise a family.

I don't know where you've been hanging out but dc has some of the highest QOL and most expensive and nice areas in the country. Yea the weather sucks, it's the east coast. Also it helps that starting pay there is higher than a regional captains lol

There are a lot of nicer places to live in the US where your money can get you much more than in the DMV.
