Basically they're opting purely for the larger regional jet category and really highlighting the 175 usage. What 50 seat carriers are gonna get parked at IAD? It was interesting...

Meanwhile Mesa moves it's entire ORD op to IAD by sept. Right?
Everyone is opting for the larger RJs, no news here.

It's not exactly a huge secret that mainline wants to get rid of 50 seaters. I figure this is only the beginning of a new trend in the industry of moving away from 50 seat flying. I wouldn't be caught dead at a regional with a hefty 50 seat fleet right now, no matter how good their contract may be.

The email also mentioned that not all of the 50 seat flying would be replaced by larger regional jets, meaning they are either cutting routes or sending some of that flying back to mainline. I really hope it's the ladder of the two.

Are you saying i could START as a senior fo once on property instead of having to slug it out for 7 years to climb the list at republic?

Yes and no. You would be a relatively senior FO in base and equipment but globally you will start at the bottom like everyone else. Upgrade time doesn't change, but your QOL will be higher while you wait.

What's the first year pay on the 175? Is the pay scale on APC accurate? It still has DHC-8 pay on there so I'm curious how dated it is. Can anybody give a general estimate of take home pay that first year with per diem?

First year pay for me with per diem included was approx $2100-$2400/month.

Just depends on your line when you're off reserve and whether or not you pick up any extra/incentive flying.

After, I know a couple guys who reduced themselves down to less than 10 days off/month by picking up time and made more.
