Blackwing, our class is still waiting on Pilot Lounge too. It's a little frustrating. US Wings is being problematic with the first-time login too...
Oddly, UAL's Skynet - which traditionally gave me the most issues - is working just fine. Go figure.
Regarding Pilot Lounge, can anyone confirm a general time new-hires get access to it? When administration gets around to it? IOE? After IOE?

I think that's standard at all the regionals. The only exception I've heard is the Q400 at Republic, because let's be honest, who wants to go do that?
It's effective from the point you pass your 121 checkride.
With the investment they put into training you, I don't think staying a year is unreasonable. Where else would you go, anyway?

Yep. People always seem to think that passing the checkride is the big deal, but if you've never flown 121 or a jet, IOE is the big deal.
I remember AE had a 30 hour max for IOE. If you weren't cutting it by then you were out. Now some regionals are allowing people to fly 80 hours on IOE...

What regionals do not have a training contract?
Agreed.
Bumbaclot,
Was trying to figure out how you determined from the posts that anyone is trying to get away with it. The post by deltajuliet is the only way I could see your interpretation. However, I was not trying to figure out how to scam a company and leave shortly afterwards. I have no problem fulfilling my contract. If I leave early, and the company requests recoupment of training fees, then that is what I am obligated to do.
Unless I am mistaken, deltajuliet was saying that the financial risk of breaking contract/paying the debt vs. going to a major, would pay itself off in the long run.
---------------------------
Reading a few more of the most recent posts leaves me with two more questions:
1- Any idea of how much training costs to pay back, before being prorated?
2- If the training contract doesn't start until the completion of IOE, how long does it typically take from day 1 of training to complete IOE?
Thanks for all the help.
FWIW I hate to say it but being in debt your whole life and then running away from FAA 121 carrier because you have a bright idea to "stick it to the man" and use them can't always be the best way forward. Possibly if you're making 18k a month in china tax free. But hey!

3 jets in already, IOE has never been that big of a deal. day 1 is a $h!t show then by day 4 or 5 you pretty much have assimilated in the collective suck. I've always thought the checkride was far more stressful than IOE ever has been, at least as an FO.

Of course, there's always the added stress that comes from flying with a complete psychopath who also happens to be your checkairman...
