I jumpseated the other day on Mesa and the FO was still doing IOE. We got to chatting and I asked him the standard line "so what did you do before this?" Apparently, he was flight instructing but had his medical pulled about a year ago due to a 2nd DUI. His medical was returned a few months ago and shortly there after he had a Mesa phone interview.... That should answer your question.,,,
Let me ask this question then. Since Mesa is hiring, according to your superior judgement, sub-standard pilots will you be electing to never sit in the jump-seat on Mesa again?
Just asking, I mean because if you're insinuating they're unsafe or something!?!?

So let me get this strait Slats. You got a free ride in a Mesa cockpit, acted appropriately toward the crew, to their face, so they would like you enough to let you be there, and then you come on here and bad-mouth the dude behind his back and our company, forwarding sensitive information that obviously the guy shared with you in confidence. Nice work.

Did I ever say sub standard pilots? No, I didn't. They're hiring guys that have made sub standard decisions ie 2 DUI's

So why again are you posting on this thread Slats? It doesn't seem you are contributing much to the conversation.
You don't see me posting on Skywest threads. But then again I don't walk through the terminal on a 100 degree day wearing my aviators, hat and blazer. Not my cup of tea...

Also, since when is a cockpit the "cone of silence?" It's not like conversations are being recorded...

[SIZE=3]Ahh Skillet you make me smile. What you say is true to a point, I’ve been based in Honolulu and YES it is a difficult place to make it on Mesa FO pay. Now if I remember correctly Skillet you are TDY so you get per diem and a hotel so forgive me if I can’t let it pass that you are some kind of authority on living in Hawaii. I did it without per diem and with out a hotel and guess what it can be done! You are correct we do only have 11 days a month off, and there are days you have to work from 6:15am-8:30pm but the are not the rule. Most days are from 6-2 or 2-8. Yes there are a lot fatigue calls because of those 6am-8pm days, those days suck period. If you need to call in do it, you shouldn’t have to but yes they build some crappy lines with those days built in. I’ll give that one to you. Your next point is rent, again your TDY please don’t talk about things you have no experience with. Rent, if you want to live within a few blocks of Waikiki is going to be high. I’ve seen 1 bedroom without kitchens for over $3000 a month near the beach! If you move inland just 10-15 blocks rent drops off to $750-$850 even below is not unheard of. I’ve lived in Arizona myself and I paid $750 for an apartment and it was more then a few blocks from the ocean. Next time you talk about rent look at places in Salt Lake, Ewa Beach, and Waianae THEN tell the world all you know about renting in Hawaii.

Oh boy... I miss those days with "The Juice" and "Saaborowski" Burning up the Mesa forums like SLATS does. Turns out, those guys were at Colgan....guess where they Went next? You guessed right, they went to "Silver" which must be better right?
So ive got Skwest Bro F/O...a couple tran states guys ...a guy named CBreezy who doesn't even have 1500 hours yet. Just getting an idea of credibility in these forums.
Slats I'd be careful throwing out that DUI stuff. Even on a forum board I think it's a bad idea....to even attempt to stereotype a pilot group like that or even provide a stigma is flat out libel/slander I'd like the mods to please lock or remove Slats from this forum. Incredibly offensive!!! Skywest guys please reel in SLATS I know he doesn't represent you at all.
Just lock it out.
