So they just expect the folks awarded upgrade to pack up and start class in a weeks notice?

I'm not aware of any airline that gives anyone more than a few weeks notice before sending them off for upgrade.

If you're not ready to pack up and start upgrade within a few weeks notice, you shouldn't have submitted a CA bid IMHO.

Look for it early next week--the CLT displacement has been holding up the award.

Yeah! How dare you to expect to be treated professionally.

Awwwwww someone didn't get thewer four months off before the big bad upgrade cwassss and they want mommy to give them a pony wahhhhhhhhhhh.

Seriously though what is wrong with all of these newbs on here being totally helpless babies about everything?

Do you need someone to hold your hand when you go back to the lav too? Do you need me to show you the "on" button on your iPad?

Seriously what is wrong with you? Do you still wear diapers?

This is an airline--not a nursery--if you're going to cry about being notified of an upgrade class five weeks in advance you have no business being an airline pilot.

Bid award notice says Nov 17.... that's 9 days from now.

EDIT: Never mind, there are 2 dates on the award notice and I was going off the one that's wrong.... It is a Dec 15 class.

Apparently RV5M thinks companies should award CA vacancies 3-4 months in advance? Or maybe a year? Not sure how he thinks that 5-6 weeks notice is "unprofessional."

''Twas referring to one week notice.

On an unrelated note, I hope existing CRJ CAs remember that the 36-month equipment lock applies, per contract, even if you downgrade to FO in an attempt to go EJet CA.

I know a few newly-upgraded IAD CAs who seem to think they can just downgrade to IAD FO when CLT closes (to stay in base), then turn around and bid EJet CA immediately--that "back door" won't work, b/c the 36-month CA equipment lock applies even if you downgrade. Buyer beware.

I don't wanna be a jerk--I'm just sick of people being confused about all kinds of stuff that's literally written in bold/highlighted text on readily-available documents on company websites--not just with standing bid.

I understand Mesa is pretty bad about explaining things not directly related to training/flying (like how our slightly convoluted reserve bidding processes work)...so my bad if I'm being harsh...they need to make a simple 1-day "intro to how things work at an airline" PowerPoint/Q&A session on day 1 of groundschool, but, well, no one (including myself) is going to do something like that for free, and Mesa is in the business of making money, so I don't see them paying anyone to do that anytime soon either!

I've talked to people who have literally been on the line for 3-5 months and they aren't even aware of the fact they can bid their reserve shifts after the initial PBS award comes out. I don't even know how that happens.
