I guess that clears up the rumor of Mesa having first right of refusal of the 30 new EJets[/QUOTE]

I didn't see a mention of SkyWest or Mesa anywhere in those PRs.

Where does it say that some are going to Skywest? In the second article? Link is dead.

Embraer S.A.: United Airlines to Add More E175s to... -- SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Embraer S.A. announced today at the 51st International Paris Air Show an agreement with United Airlines to add additional E175 jets to the United Express fleet. The agreement consists of ten firm orders, which will be included in Embraer's 2015 second-quarter backlog. Additionally, Embraer expects that United or one of the carriers that operates as United Express will convert options for 18 aircraft to firm orders in the near term. The ten firm orders have an estimated value of USD 444 million based on current list price.

Delivery of the first of these aircraft is expected in 2016. The E175s are configured in a dual class 76-seat layout and will operate under the United Express brand. The carrier's 76-seat jet fleet will be comprised exclusively of E175s. This latest acquisition is in addition to a previous order from United Airlines for 30 E175s in April 2013.

I really hope these aircraft come to Mesa. Would love to see the Ejet fleet expand and also create a lot more upgrades.

I'm guessing the operator of these aircraft will be announced in a separate PR.

The 18 will be going to SkyWest as they are the only ones who currently have outstanding options. The other 10 that United are ordering will probably end up at Mesa similar to the current agreement in which United owns the planes and Mesa agrees to operate.

Id just go ahead and move to dallas if i was you. Its the cheapest and youll be home. But i dont know your living situation.

It is doable of course but commuting just wears on you man.
Thanks for the info.
I hear lots of DFW runs are out and backs- I'm guessing Mesa doesn't put you up in your base, so if commuting, I'd basically need 2 places, or at least a DFW crashpad? Doesn't sound desirable- I know I'd be better off living in base... Will need to look into affordable places near the airport . I'm not at all familiar with the DFW area

Well, 10 would be better than none. Guess we'll see how it pans out.

Why are 175's only now the hot new airplane? They've been available since 2004.
