I for one am.

The past few pages of this thread is disturbing on a few levels to say the least.

Whereas somebody around the block will complain about the daily garbage experienced.
And neither is this. The majority of my class was prior 121/135 as was the class after mine.

Dude, it's APC. Go for a walk outside.

Dear everyone reading this thread who doesn't work for Mesa: APC drama isn't real. Mesa is a typical regional airline.

Yeah because if somebody writes on APC "I have a buddy who's a convicted serial killer with 3 DUI's and a phony logbook who's in class at Mesa right now" it MUST be true.

I came to Mesa after deciding I was tired if cooking burritos on the food truck outside the training center. They recruited me due to an exceptionally good taco salad I made for one of the instructors. Walked right into class no questions asked.

The issue is that people are getting into airliners without being interviewed at all. I really think this is insane and a violation of the trust that the flying public expects.

Yup. With Mesa being the first to practice this methodology of hiring speakers loud and clear their place in the industry.

This should be a serious concern not only for the flying public but a HUGE concern for all Mesa pilots whether or not one may have been hired in this fashion.

Good luck to us all.

Sending letters with class dates isn't the same as putting someone in an airliner no questions asked. The letters are just marketing. Everyone who actually shows up for class ends up in contact with the company or a recruiter at some point, and further has to get through training. Stop exaggerating the situation.

Major airlines have the luxury of choosing smart, interesting people and still end up with a lot of jerks. The regionals don't have it so good. Airline pilots are highly replaceable, commoditized, skilled laborers, FOs especially. It sucks, but I can't fault management for knowing this and taking advantage of it.
