The reality is, and this is true with any airline, that your interview continues all the way through training. If you don't pass the tests or can't hack it in the sim then you don't have a job anymore. I guess my point is that passing an interview is never a guaranteed job no matter where you go.
I have prior 121 time with XJT (from back when they were still Expressjet 07-08) and 2200 TT with 1300 multi and 650 TPIC, so nothing too extraordinary. I guess that's just how they are making offers nowadays. Sounds like it's hit and miss as to whom gets this avenue. Hope to maybe get in a class sooner and not wait till July just for the E-175. Seniority is more important.

You'll get IAD even if you don't ask for it. Its very junior. I've been in IAD since I came over from the ERJ in 2010. Currently, only the CRJ700 is based here. The last bid did not have as many day trips as bids prior. There are some decent 4 day trips here and there, but you will see day trips thrown on or back to back. Many of the senior guys take them because they live in the area and can be back by evening. There's guys that live drive in from Hagerstown, Cumberland, Frederick, Lancaster (PA), Roanoke (VA), several in Delaware and several over toward PHL...Regardless of the drive, it's pretty sweet getting in your car and knowing getting home is entirely up to you...not having to rely on some other carrier is GOOD.
I suspect you'll get a line fairly quick but I'm not sure...we've got lots of new FOs who commute from the west coast and from PHX so I guess it's all "do-able". I will say the IAD group of guys (and girls) is pretty good, roughly 40 some CAs and 40 some FOs. Most guys are easy to get along with and just want to put in their time and get home. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you end up here, the 70 mile drive is a non-issue as well, unless it's the capital beltway on Friday afternoon.
The flight segments are pretty long as well with lots of IAD to MIA, AUS, DFW, SAT, MCI, MSY and OKC scattered about. that all helps greatly when PBS is "trying to build" you an 85 hour line. Hope this helps...good luck with it all.
